Job Description:

Corporate Audit is responsible for performing independent reviews and tests to ensure that appropriate controls over risk are in place and functioning properly throughout Bank of America. The department covers all areas of the Corporation and performs reviews based upon assessments of the higher risk items to the Company. The group regularly provides Management and the Board of Directors with a thorough and independent assessment of the corporation's risk management systems and internal controls. Additionally, Corporate Audit provides risk-based advice and counsel to management to help develop and maintain an appropriate customer focus risk management culture that supports the Corporation's business objectives, Corporate Audit seeks individuals who have a desire to adapt and learn the multiple businesses of the Corporation.

This job is responsible for independently performing test work during highly complex audit activities for Lines of Business (LOBs). Key responsibilities include independently designing and executing audit tests, assessing issues for business impact and recommending severity ratings, and establishing business partner relationships. Job expectations include evaluating the control environment, fostering an inclusive work environment, applying product, business, and technical expertise, and supporting team members with development.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for executing multiple areas of test work during audit activitiesUses analytical skills and/or technical expertise to execute assigned audit testing responsibilitiesIndependently executes audit test work on assigned auditsIdentifies control deficiencies, discusses with line management and initiates control matter recommendations in assigned test areasBegins to demonstrate basic project management skillsRaises issues and concerns and makes recommendations for severity ratingsAssesses issues for impact to business processes, controls and strategies; recommends severity ratings and escalation of broad themes or trendsBegins to establish business partner relationships; primary engagement is with line managementExercises critical thinking and judgment to effectively influence management to improve the control environmentSupports employee development efforts, teamwork and a positive and inclusive work environmentExecutes audit strategy for the sound application of risk-based auditing by defining audit scope and audit programs, and leverages automation and innovative methods in a timely and high quality mannerExercises sound knowledge of product, business, and technical expertise to effectively challenge management to improve the control environmentAssesses impacts to business processes, controls, and strategies to provide recommendations on severity ratingsProvides input on draft audit reports and shares audit results with business leadersSupports the development of peers and teams through on-the-job-training and fosters an inclusive work environmentEstablishes business partner relationships, primarily with line management, to develop business knowledgeUses innovative tools to complete audit activities more efficiently (e.g., testing)Skills:MUST have a Bachelors or Master s Degree in Finance or AccountingCPA, CA or CFA preferredProficient work paper documentation skillsAt least 3 years of general auditing experience with a finance or control function, internal audit function or public accounting firm, preferably within the Banking or Financial Services industryKnowledge of Corporate and Commercial lines of business and/or Treasury ProductsUnderstanding of financial instruments; Finance, Operations and Middle Office functions; and operational and financial controlsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCandidate will be required to interact with staff and managers across audit teams as well as key stakeholders in business areas including Finance, Operations and Middle Office functionsAbility to work in a team environmentInteract with a team of audit professionals and coordinate with other audit teams across regionsBachelors or Master s DegreeCPA, CA or CFA preferredProficient work paper documentation skillsExcellent risk assessment skillsAbility to influence your business partnerDisplay personal courage and ability to make difficult decisionsCritical thinker, intellectually curiousAnalytical ThinkingAudit PlanningInternal Audit ReviewIssue ManagementRisk ManagementAttention to DetailAutomationBusiness AcumenProject ManagementTechnical DocumentationCoachingCritical ThinkingRelationship BuildingWritten CommunicationsShift:1st shift (United States of America)Hours Per Week: 40
