The PRN HMIS Screener Navigator plays a crucial role, providing essential support to the hub, hotline, mobile, and shelter services.

This position is responsible for inputting accurate and timely data into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and serving clients with compassion and efficiency.


The PRN HMIS Screener Navigator ensures that all client interactions are documented and that data integrity is maintained, aiding in the delivery of high-quality services to those in need.

This position requires a willingness to work in all Sunrise team environments.

The PRN Assessor at Sunrise Homeless Navigation Center serves as a vital link in our mission to provide comprehensive support to individuals experiencing homelessness or those at risk.

This flexible role involves working across multiple teams including the Hub, Mobile units, Shelter, and Hotline. You will conduct Coordinated Housing Assessments, provide referrals, and ensure data accuracy within the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). Your work is essential to connecting clients with the services they need to move towards stable housing.

Position Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in social work or related field preferred
  • Experience working in HMIS and/or homeless services strongly preferred
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations is a plus
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Availability to work shifts weekdays 8:00a2:00p, 9:00a3:00p, 12:00p6:00p or 11:007:00p.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and engage with individuals seeking services at all locations
  • Provide compassionate assistance and support to clients
  • Conduct screening in Homeless Management Information System and identify client needs
  • Assist with crisis intervention and make appropriate referrals
  • Navigate the complex web of homeless services in Austin to best serve clients
  • Complete Coordinated Housing Assessments once licensed.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals and volunteers
  • Embrace a holistic, personcentered approach to service delivery
