Job Summary:

This role is crucial in the agency's licensing unit, serving as the main contact for new applicants looking to register with the Board. It involves managing the application process for various industries such as Architect, Engineer, Land Surveyor, Landscape Architect, Geologist, as well as roles like Home Inspector, Alarm Business, and Alarm Agent. Accuracy and timeliness in processing applications are key for the agency's smooth operation. Effective communication with individuals seeking Board registration is a must.

Job Duties:

  • Processing applications for exams and registration, verifying documentation, updating systems, and determining application completeness
  • Assisting in state-specific exams, processing licensing requests, conducting background checks, and handling front desk duties when needed
  • Communicating clearly with applicants, evaluators, and national councils
  • Performing clerical tasks including filing, copying documents, scanning, and testing online platforms
  • Completing other assigned projects by supervisors
  • Additional responsibilities related to the role

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of state licensing processes and Board statutes
  • Familiarity with computer software and online platforms

Skills:

  • Accurate data entry and strong interpersonal skills
  • Organizational and time management abilities

Ability:

  • Effective planning and organization
  • Adherence to rules and procedures
  • Analytical thinking and dealing with challenging individuals

Selective Preference(s):

  • Two years of administrative experience or an Associates Degree in a related field
  • Ability to handle public inquiries professionally

  • Driver's license record checks for employees driving on state business
  • Hold a valid state-issued driver's license
