Job Title Principal Product Owner Summary of the role: Navitaire, an Amadeus company, are proven innovators in the travel industry shaping the way the world thinks about travel.

This is a hybrid position and would require you to be in the local office 2-3 days a week.

Navitaire is modernizing our portfolio of hosted services to apply cloud-first architectural principles, and to evolve our offerings to align with offer and order management concepts.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Product Owner to support this effort.

In this role you will help maximize the outcome of the Agile team(s) to give best value to the customers.

Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, create actionable user stories for the development team, participate in daily scrum meetings, answer developers' questions as the customer/user representative, accept the finished user stories to make sure the work meets the criteria, participate in iteration retrospectives.

Work in a context of an Agile team (Scrum or Kanban), applying the best agile practices in term of product backlog management (writing a good features and user stories, setting good acceptance criteria, vertical slicing, prioritization and refinement of the backlog, accepting the user stories, managing demos).

In case the Agile team is part of a scaled agile organization, it is expected to attend and participate actively to the ceremonies at scrum-of-scrums level including (program increment planning, PO sync, system demos...) and work closely to ensure the team backlog and the program backlog alignment.

Common accountabilities:
Has working experience and advanced and specialized technical/functional knowledge in own discipline. Understands how own area contributes to the business. Acts as a reference for colleagues with less experience and supports junior team members.

Influences decisions related to own activity, anticipating dependencies and consequences in complex scenarios, contributes to transversal projects, proposes improvements to processes and is accountable for own and team commitments.

Works independently within plan dictated by manager, with some guidance on most complex situations.

Specific accountabilities:

Understand, identify and define customer needs Transform the high-level vision of the Product Manager into detailed requirements, working closely with a range of stakeholders for the product, including non-customer stakeholders such as finance, security, operations, support, audit, and others.

Consolidate and articulate business needs into new product concepts or upgrades, and interact with Product Managers to develop user stories or features affecting the team backlog Contribute to the product vision and roadmap Define and continuously develop the product vision & the business value in line with the business owners, product managers, other Product Owners & agile teams Support the product features definition (scoping)


With the support of the Agile team, lead the definition and prioritization of the Features or user stories, based on customer needs and value, to deliver based on market and business needs Consider and prioritize amongst all Features the enabler work and sequence the architectural runway in collaboration with Architects/Engineering Collaborate with other teams across the group to ensure coherent prioritization, product alignment, marketing and user experience across various Products/Groups.

This includes (but is not limited to) Business Owners, Product Management, other POs, UX, Architects, and other groups Manage, prioritize and communicate the flow of work Ensure the features and user stories backlogs are reprioritized before each release and sprint planning session Constantly align and communicate with respective agile count rparts and leadership team Do sufficient analysis to ensure requirements are ready to be worked on Document, analyze, trace, prioritize and agree on requirements and then control change and communicate to relevant stakeholders Work closely with delivery teams to ensure they build the right functionality in a timely manner Is involved with ongoing testing efforts Participate to Agile events Accept stories prior Sprint review Actively participate to team coordination meetings, PO synchronization meetings, draft plan reviews and management meeting Actively participate to System demos and Inspect & Adapt workshops Actively contribute to the Community of Practice of Product Owners Organize demos Contribute to product promotion Provide key information & communicate value on the product, to define the Value proposition Define a succession of strategies as a product goes through its product life cycle Contribute to the pilot plan Share content for product documentation, sales tools and collateral Create standard and tailor-made presentations, and demo scripts showing product value Give presentations, demos and familiarization sessions to customers and customer-facing teams (for them to perform them).

Once the product has been piloted, standard presentations should be performed by customer-facing teams Participate to the preparation of key events, guaranteeing the success of product launch and follow up Contribute to RFP/RFI for the product The ideal candidate: 3+ years of experience and advanced knowledge in Product Ownership.

Has the required technical/functional knowledge and experience in own discipline. Knowledge of the Navitaire business and how it is related to own area.
