About the Position:

At Amsted Automotive Group in Shelby Township, we are currently looking for Press Operators to join our team. As a Press Operator, your main responsibility will be setting up and running line dies, including transfer dies, in stamping presses.

Shift Schedule:
  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
  • Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (15% shift premium)
  • Midnight Shift: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM (15% shift premium)
We are excited to introduce a 4th shift known as the Panama Shift, with two different time options available:

Schedule:

2 days on, 3 days off, 2 days on - 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off
  • 12 hours per shift
  • Pattern repeats every 2 weeks
  • Every other weekend off
Shift Times:
  • Day Shift: 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM (5% shift premium)
  • Midnight Shift: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM (15% shift premium)
Responsibilities:
  • Operate equipment including press transfer and feeder
  • Assist with setup and changeover procedures
  • Run press in production mode to meet targets
  • Conduct visual inspections to ensure quality standards
  • Perform quality checks and use checking fixtures
  • Ensure proper labeling on parts containers
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas following 5S Standards
  • Complete production reports and downtime documentation
  • Participate in environmental compliance tasks as needed
  • Support Lean Manufacturing practices
  • Contribute to waste elimination initiatives
  • Help achieve company goals
Requirements:
  • Minimum of three months experience with press and feeder operations
  • Proficiency in using computers and control panels
  • Familiarity with IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 standards
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment
