The Corporate Audit Services Audit Project Manager is also responsible for partnering with U.S.

Bank's Wealth Management and Investment Services businesses and other Risk/Compliance/Audit (RCA) professionals to create, implement, maintain, review or oversee an effective risk management framework.

This role leads risk-based audit projects and/or activities that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations; identifies gaps and provides informed solutions that minimize losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems or human errors; identifies, responds and/or escalates risks as appropriate.

The CAS Audit Project Manager serves as a functional liaison between the Line of Business and the Lines of Defense.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervising audit staff in the completion of audit engagements, issue validations, and oversight of project tasks across the Wealth Management, Trust Products, and Investment Services product team

Supervision includes:

  • Assessing work performed by staff by providing coaching notes that are relevant to the scope, accuracy and completeness of work performed.
  • Performing sufficient reviews to ensure work contains relevant facts to support audit scope and conclusions and adhere to internal audit policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing issues to ensure potential exposures and significance are included, root causes are identified, and operationally effective and costeffective actions to address those causes are developed into appropriate recommendations.
  • Completing or assisting managers in planning audit engagements. Includes identifying and analyzing business processes, key risks and critical controls; interviewing auditees; determining audit scope; evaluating control design adequacy; and developing audit programs which provide sufficient guidance for testing control performance effectiveness.
  • Providing onthejob training for staff. Includes business knowledge of products, services, and delivery systems; company policies and procedures; applicable laws and regulations; and formal/informal control frameworks.
  • Performing other duties as requested by management.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Typically, more than six years of internal auditing, first line, second line, financial services regulatory, or other relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Considerable knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact Wealth Management and Investment Services. Knowledge of trust, fiduciary, and investment services key topics and industry best practices desired.
  • Considerable understanding of the Wealth Management and Investment Services' operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
  • Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
  • Strong analytical, process facilitation and project management skills
  • Effective presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • CIA, CPA, CISA, CFIRS, CCTP or other relevant professional designation
