IT Audit Supervisor

The Internal Audit department plays a crucial role in identifying and assessing significant risks, contributing to the enhancement of risk management and control systems. The Audit Supervisor collaborates with IT leadership to gain insights into products, organizational functions, and systems, delivering high-quality audit services that align with departmental performance standards. This role emphasizes the significance of internal controls to management and communicates findings clearly and logically, both verbally and in writing. Furthermore, the Audit Supervisor partners closely with the SOX Manager to ensure the timely completion of key control testing each year. The ideal candidate will possess experience in auditing, SOX compliance, banking, or related fields.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Project Management
- Engage in complex audits requiring advanced organizational, technical, and accounting expertise.
- Serve as the lead auditor, overseeing the audit team's activities and mentoring junior auditors.
- Develop comprehensive work plans, including documents such as Operational Scope Memos, Risk Control Assessments, Process Narratives, and audit program steps.
- Conduct fieldwork, gather and prepare technical documentation and workpapers that fulfill audit program requirements, analyze evidence, identify root causes, and draft proposed audit findings and recommendations for improvement. Additionally, follow up on audit report findings to ensure timely implementation of corrective actions by management.
- Compile audit reports and other deliverables for audit clients, ensuring clarity and coherence in final work products.
Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance
- Conduct semi-annual reviews of primary controls.
Special Initiatives
- Participate in special projects as directed by management, including annual risk assessments and collaboration with external auditors.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related business field.
- One or more relevant IT certifications (CISA, CISSP, CISM, etc.).
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Comprehensive understanding of operational and technical information systems concepts and controls, including network infrastructure, operating systems, database management, SDLC, change management, IT governance, and complex applications.
- Five to seven years of experience in IT auditing or related business roles.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Experience in public accounting, regulatory, or external auditing is advantageous.
- Banking experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with AuditBoard is beneficial.
