Role Overview: As the Business Development Manager (BDM) you will be entrusted with nurturing and expanding relationships with existing All Star members and potential new affiliates. Moreover, you will play a pivotal role in pinpointing cost-saving opportunities within the current member base, as well as spearheading the recruitment of fresh members to drive the growth and strategic direction of All Star Purchasing.

Key Responsibilities

Key Tasks:

  • Collaborate with member organizations to scrutinize expenditure data for opportunities to reduce costs and oversee projects that yield positive outcomes for member firms.
  • Handle day-to-day operations with members, suppliers, and internal colleagues while upholding a superior level of service.
  • Engage in prospecting and networking activities to attract, enlist, and integrate new member entities.
  • Work closely with the All Star procurement team to devise strategies aimed at expanding current operations and enhancing benefits for member organizations.
  • Create and deliver targeted communications to existing and prospective members.
  • Evaluate performance metrics against set objectives and report progress to senior management.
  • Maintain detailed records of interactions using a customer relationship management (CRM) tool.
Additional: Undertake any other relevant duties as directed.

Minimum Requirements

Education: An undergraduate degree in a business-related field or ongoing pursuit of such a qualification is mandatory.

Accreditations and Training: Possession of a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification is advantageous. Proficiency in utilizing a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool is essential.

Experience: A minimum of five years of proven experience in sales, territory management, business development, procurement, supply chain management, or a correlated business function is obligatory.

Physical Demands

This role necessitates prolonged sitting, standing, and walking, as well as reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, and occasional vehicle operation.

Sensory Expectations

Proficiency in hearing, speaking, conversing, and observing is crucial for this position.

Working Environment

The typical work setting for this role is an office environment.
