The Women's Health and Genetics division of Labcorp is seeking a Genetic Counselor Assistant to join their team This is an exciting opportunity to provide support to the Genetic Counseling team for our NIPT lab in San Diego.

Please note: this position has the option to work remotely or onsite at our San Diego laboratory. Candidate must reside within the US.

The schedule for this position will be Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM -- 5:00 PM PST (with some flexibility).

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the lab Genetic Counselor team to support clients that ordered testing performed at Labcorp
  • Respond to telephone and email inquiries from Labcorp clients, health care providers, Labcorp's laboratories and branches to coordinate all applicable genetic testing
  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve any problems related to testing by contacting clients or other Labcorp facilities
  • Document case work and interactions with clients
  • Triage calls from clients
  • Track samples and provide updates to providers
  • Proactive outcome collection
  • Abnormal result notifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Biological Science
  • 2 years' related Customer Service experience preferred
  • 1+ years' experience in the healthcare industry such as a hospital or physician's office highly desired
  • Previous experience as a Genetic Counselor Assistant (GCA) highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required. Experience with Salesforce preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent ability to listen and respond effectively
  • Strong flexibility and the ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities quickly
  • Strong project management skills

Pay range: $25-33/hr
