Overview

POSITION SUMMARY


Bering Straits Global Innovations, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently in search of an experienced Mechanical Inspector to provide construction inspection services in the Upper Colorado Basin Region in New Mexico, as well as future projects in Albuquerque and surrounding areas. The appointed individual will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with construction standards and safety regulations set by the Bureau of Reclamation.

The Mechanical Inspector will directly report to the Construction Manager.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


The following list outlines key duties for this role:


  • Familiarize oneself with all contractual documents related to construction plans, specifications, and schedules, ensuring adherence to engineering standards.
  • Review and assess product data submissions against project documents and industry standards.
  • Attend construction meetings, document discussions, and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support in reviewing construction documentation, resolving issues, and monitoring progress.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to oversee construction activities and ensure compliance with set plans and specifications.
  • Oversee quality control and safety measures to guarantee work meets prescribed standards.
  • Collaborate with field staff on quality assurance, safety protocols, and project progress.
  • Facilitate communication with various parties involved in the construction process.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in construction, specifically in Water System projects.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering documents and ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry practices and safety regulations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information in written and oral forms.
  • Capacity to work in varying weather conditions and on-site for extended periods.
  • Self-motivated, professional, and adept at time management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in OSHA and Reclamation Safety Standards.

Optional Skills:
Preferred Qualifications:
  • OSHA Construction Training.
  • USACE Construction Quality Management.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


The role involves physical demands and environmental factors requiring:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and perform physical tasks.
  • Regular walking, lifting, and exposure to various elements.
Requirements for Safety-Sensitive Roles:

  • This position is exempt from specific Department of Transportation regulations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT


The job involves a blend of office and field work, exposing individuals to both office and outdoor conditions. Travel is anticipated.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
