Overview:
Responsibilities:
- Greet and checkin patients, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information
- Schedule appointments and coordinate with other departments as needed
- Obtain necessary medical records and documentation for patient intake
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain preauthorizations when necessary
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, providers, and other staff members
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry
Skills:
- Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of medical records
- Experience working in an emergency room or urgent care setting is preferred
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle difficult situations with professionalism
- Knowledge of front desk operations and phone systems
Note:
