Integrated Performance is seeking a meticulous and seasoned Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Engineer to join their team.

As part of this role, you will be in charge of executing fatigue and damage tolerance analysis on structural components and systems to ensure the safety and dependability of the products.

You will collaborate closely with design, materials, and test engineers to devise strategies for averting fatigue failures and prolonging the lifespan of the products.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform fatigue and damage tolerance analysis on structural components and systems utilizing various methods.
  • Create and apply fatigue assessment methodologies and standards for different materials and structures.
  • Produce Fatigue Spectra from current primary structure FEM models.
  • Work with design engineers to integrate fatigue considerations into the design phase.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to oversee and evaluate fatigue damage in structures.
  • Offer direction and suggestions on design adjustments and maintenance procedures to enhance fatigue performance.
  • Analyze and decipher data from tests and simulations to forecast the remaining useful life of components and systems.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices concerning fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in fatigue and damage tolerance analysis within a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in finite element analysis software such as NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS.
  • Familiarity with fatigue assessment methods, standards, and regulations like MIL-HDBK-5, NASA-STD-5009.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work autonomously.

The engineer should have a strong background in launch vehicle development, capable of devising innovative solutions and comprehending the balance between engineering judgment and analysis rigor based on the situation.

The ideal candidate should have experience supporting structural architecture trades and collaborating with a diverse team to define optimal vehicle configurations based on mission performance, reliability, mass, and cost.
