Brown & Brown Insurance is seeking an Application Support Specialist to join our growing team This position is a hybrid role and can report into any of our 350 locations nationwide. The Application Support Specialist position provides world class customer service and subject matter expertise to teammates using software applications within the business, enabling the success of required business processes. Working under the supervision of the Retail Assistant Director of Application Support, this role is responsible for responding to a wide variety of customer needs, providing on-call support and expertise knowledge for wide range of Retail COTS applications. This could include handling customer complaints, solving user access issues, advanced troubleshooting, diagnosing problems, escalating issues as needed and problem solving. The Specialist position also monitors the suite of COTS systems, manages data, performs necessary testing & validation for release management, investigates and completes root cause analysis on major issues, and works with others to improve standard processes.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Effectively interacts and clearly communicates with teammates across multiple levels and departments within the business, supporting the effective and efficient use of the department's applications.
  • Provides world class customer service while supporting a wide variety of system tools and applications.
  • Monitors the suite of COTS systems, manages data, performs necessary testing & validation for release management, investigates and completes root cause analysis on major issues, and works with others to improve standard processes.
  • Contributes subject matter expertise to projects on new application implementations, conversions, upgrades, and modifications by working collaboratively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partners with Retail Technology Solutions training team to propose and develop documentation and training for internal and external end users.
  • Investigates and provides solutions to streamline, automate or eliminate inefficient or manual processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in multiple applications supported by the department.
  • Leverages application expertise to troubleshoot, problem solve and offer solutions.
  • Maintains security access for information systems.
  • Provide mentorship to Application Support Analysts.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Previous software management experience
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • 4+ years of working in a similar role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for technology-related issues and complex business scenarios.
Preferred
  • Experience providing support for COTS applications.
  • Experience with insurance software suites (Vertafore, Applied Epic)
  • Experience with CRM software (Dynamics)
  • Experience in supporting variety of business applications in a production environment.
  • Intermediate knowledge of the insurance industry.
