CFS has recently partnered with a newly renovated Westchester Hotel within the heart of the Hudson Valley. They are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to come onboard and assist the Controller in managing the hotels financial activities, safeguarding assets, and preparing financial reports in line with GAAP and HEI standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify accuracy of Night Audit work and route sales and promotion checks.
  • Post, reconcile, and bill city ledger accounts; follow up on billing and collections.
  • Reconcile credit card back-up to General Cashier Summary; bill out credit cards and maintain logs.
  • Set up new accounts per credit policy; assist in reconciling open account status items.
  • Input General Cashier Summary and maintain records.
  • Process and follow up on returned checks; record ledger reconciliations.
  • Ensure purchasing procedures are followed; maintain the Purchase Order Log.
  • Route and process invoices for approval and payment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Handle vendor inquiries and reconcile statements.
  • Maintain organized invoice files.
  • Interface checks and submit manual check logs to the Controller.
  • Comply with attendance rules and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Preferred experience in accounting and the hotel industry.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to compile facts and figures, operate a computer and calculator.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to various audiences.
