Recreation


Department In this role, you will plan, promote, organize, and administer Department of Recreation marketing for all programs, events, and activities.


Manages operations, including:

planning and scheduling special events, handling registration, hiring and scheduling staff members, budgeting, procuring necessary supplies and equipment, and working with the appropriate Recreation Department employees to market the program to the public.

Selects, develops, and supervises paid staff and volunteers.
Coordinates the equipment, supplies, and set-up for all special events.
Prepares budget and directs expenditure of funds and keeping of department records.
Interprets recreation program to public and maintains cooperative planning and working relationships with allied public and voluntary agencies.
Serves as technical adviser to managing authority and as recreation consultant to community.
Adapts recreation programs to meet needs of the department and the community.
Introduces new program activities, equipment, and materials to staff.

Creates and implements all marketing efforts including website, emails, flyers, constant contact, biannual brochures, and the print materials for the Department of Recreation.

Oversees sponsorship efforts to attract and maintain business partners.
Interprets recreation service to public and participates in community meetings and organizational planning.
Works in team with other recreation personnel to ensure that recreation is well balanced, coordinated, and integrated.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver's license.
CPR certification.
First Aid certification.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software.
Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP).
Professional experience in recreation, marketing, and special events.
