Role Overview:
As a Senior Underwriter, you will manage a portfolio with a renewal value of $7M - $8M and foster new business worth approximately $1-1.5M annually. The primary focus will be on driving profitable growth in collaboration with agents and brokers in New York City, offering products such as Package, Property, General Liability, Auto, Worker's Compensation, Umbrella/Excess, and Foreign coverages under guaranteed cost and Loss Sensitive structures. We seek a candidate who is highly driven, results-oriented, and possesses strong business acumen.
Requirements:
- Experience in both Property & Casualty lines of business, with a bonus for familiarity with global programs.
- Underwriting responsibilities include pricing negotiations, coverage assessments, and identifying cross-selling opportunities within Chubb's different practices.
- Collaborate effectively with various teams for successful account management and profitability while implementing competitive pricing strategies.
- Demonstrate strong sales and marketing abilities, focusing on agency and broker management to build lasting relationships with producers and customers.
- Identify growth prospects within new and existing client bases by applying marketing principles and pricing strategies.
- Possess a solid background in risk analysis and proficiency in underwriting processes.
- Ability to engage with customers and work alongside underwriters and other relevant personnel efficiently.
- Knowledge and proficiency in technical issues, compliance, coverage, products, and pricing strategies is essential.
- Requires occasional local travel.
Qualifications:
•5+ years of Property & Casualty Underwriting Experience
•Proven expertise in marketing and negotiation techniques
•Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
