The Department of Patient Relations at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a Patient Relations Specialist

The successful candidate will:

  • Investigate and respond to patient/family member complaints promptly.
  • Documents patients' complaints in the Complaint Tracking Systems.
  • Run reports analytics of Patient Satisfaction data.
  • Expedite services Limited English Proficiency population, ensuring interpretive services are provided.
  • Perform daily rounding on assigned units visiting the new admissions.
  • Answer incoming calls regarding patient complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Responsible for adhering to the complaint management process for prompt resolution.
  • Collaborate with key department heads to identify issues and develop action plans to address improve the patient experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with two years' experience, or actively working towards obtaining a degree.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Team Facilitation experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual

Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday; 10am-6pm

Salary Grade/Rank:
SL-4

Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience and qualifications
