The eero team is seeking to hire a Principal, Technical Accounting.

This role reports directly to the eero CFO and is responsible for providing technical accounting guidance to the organization, including research and interpretation of accounting standards, preparation of accounting memos, and analysis of complex accounting transactions.


The candidate will have extensive technical accounting knowledge of ASC 606, ideally in a SaaS and/or B2B hardware sales environment.

The candidate will work closely with all members of the cross-functional teams to design, develop and lead accounting automation projects to support the operational and financial reporting requirements of the business.

The candidate will serve as the subject matter expert on accounting policy and technical accounting matters and have experience in assessing the accounting treatment of B2B sales contracts in accordance with Amazon Accounting Policy and US GAAP.

Key job responsibilities

  • Provide technical accounting guidance for the eero business, including research and interpretation of accounting standards, preparation of accounting memos, and analysis and review of complex accounting transactions.
  • Manage relationships with outside counsel to lead reviews of key nonstandard, judgmental, and complex transactions.
  • Liaise with corporate accounting and policy teams as needed on technical accounting and financial reporting matters.
  • Stay uptodate on changes to accounting standards and regulatory requirements and assist with the development of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Lead and contribute to largescale projects to implement process improvements and internal controls for financial reporting and technical accounting.
  • Support new business initiatives and other major change management impacting financial statements and related systems.
  • Review disclosure checklists to ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • CPA
  • 12+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Knowledge of contract accounting and ASC606
