JOB SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision, this position assists with career planning via Career Pathways for the College. Duties include maintaining Career Pathways evaluation and programmatic materials; assisting with Career Pathways implementation; and functioning as both an outreach organizational liaison as well as a public relations representative for the Research Coast Career Pathways Consortium.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates and implements scheduling related to outreach activities, travel, and seminar arrangements.
  • Develops and reviews program materials and documents; composes correspondence.
  • Prepares outreach materials for presentations; handles the dissemination of college flyers, brochures, catalogs and any pertinent information related to Career Pathways.
  • Serves independently as a resource guide for visiting groups.
  • Gathers, records, and analyzes documentation related to the evaluation process.
  • Tracks and reports monthly expenditures of Career Pathways budgets including school district customization budgets.
  • Performs outreach activities over a four-county area; maintains appropriate records of outreach activities including meetings with the Research Coast Career Pathways Consortium partners.
  • Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred)
  • Two (2) years of related outreach experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Knowledge of Career Pathways.
  • Knowledge of related regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and expensing.
  • Skill in organizing, scheduling, and analyzing data.
  • Skill in delivering customer service.
  • Skill in working with Microsoft Office and Windows based applications.
  • Skill in using a wide variety of career exploration and placement assessments, tools, and resources.
  • Ability to be accurate and detailed oriented, be efficient, be discrete, be people-oriented, function in a fast-paced work environment, and work independently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as light work involving lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls. To be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of light work, you must have the ability to do substantially all of these activities. If someone can do light work, we determine that he or she can also do sedentary work, unless there are additional limiting factors such as loss of fine dexterity or inability to sit for long periods of time.
