Responsibilities:

• Develops the mechanical design and part detailing of motors, motor components, gearheads, brakes, and some PC boards.
• Manages and coordinates the design and release to production of products, which meet customer requirements.

• Communicates with engineering personnel to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completion.

• Performs tolerance stack- up analysis in accordance with manufacturing capabilities ensuring fit and functionality of assemblies.

• Ensures design models and drawings meet the established design intent and conform to ANSI/ASME standards or contract
requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two-year technical with 5 year's experience in product design and/or manufacture a plus.

• 0 - 8 years of work experience; knowledge of gear motors, electric motors and drives a plus

• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram from and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• GD&T knowledge and experience in applying on component drawings.

• Solid computer skills include MS Office, engineering design software such as PTC Creo, and Solidworks.

Physical Demands:

• The role is mostly office-based but may spend considerable time standing and walking on the production floor or development lab.

• May be required to operate a computer as well as some production machinery and lab equipment.

• Occasionally will have to lift and/or transport items weighing between 10 and 40 pounds.

Work Environment:

• Predominately office environment with occasional exposure to the production floor and development lab.

• While on the production floor, employee may be subjected to moving mechanical parts and may be required to put on precautionary, protective wear such as safety glasses.
