Exciting Business Development Opportunity

This is an amazing chance to advance your career in Business Development as a (Senior) Account Development Representative for our Biotech Solutions group. This is a full-time, permanent position, either remote or office-based in the UK.

As part of this role, you will play a crucial role in securing and maintaining business for PPD by engaging decision-makers and influencers through professional, consultative inside sales efforts focused on existing and potential clinical sponsors.

You will establish PPD as the top choice for outsourced clinical development work and contribute to sales efforts through lead follow-up, online sales opportunities, and targeted marketing programs for the Business Development team across all PPD Business Units.


Key Responsibilities

  • Bringing in new clients, arranging client meetings, and identifying new opportunities (RFPs).
  • Boosting RFP pipeline and success rates through lead generation, pipeline development, and territory management.
  • Keeping track of and documenting all activities in the CRM database.
  • Supporting marketing initiatives, such as conferences, by arranging meetings and handling follow-up tasks.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, along with relevant academic qualifications.
  • Prior experience (minimum 4+ years) demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills for the role.

  • Ability to create a territory management strategy, identify sales leads, present effectively, and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact professionally with clients.
  • Thorough understanding of the industry, company, and related areas to strategically generate leads.
  • Proficiency in sales automation systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Effective organization and time management skills with a focus on targets.
  • Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment and solving problems efficiently.
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to work in a matrixed team setup.
