VMI Coordinator at Family Dollar

VMI Coordinators play a key role in ensuring a smooth inventory flow for assigned vendors, helping the company achieve its sales, profitability, and inventory turnover targets.

This position involves managing and overseeing the distribution center replenishment activities of VMI Suppliers to meet or exceed annual DC service level and turn goals while maintaining store-level in-stock objectives, reflecting Family Dollar's dedication to customer service and sales.


Responsibilities:
  • Effectively utilize Retek and Micro-Strategy to optimize inventory levels, generate order quantities, and provide sales projections to vendors.
  • Communicate status, issues, and system changes across categories to achieve DC service level, in-stock goals, and reduce EDI errors.
  • Analyze shipment and sales data to manage replenishment activities of assigned VMI suppliers based on forecasting.
  • Provide monthly scorecard information to VMI suppliers to meet DC service level and inventory turn goals.
  • Track promotional and new item purchase orders, monitor inventory, and recommend order strategies to balance inventory and maximize sales.
  • Manage store in-stock positions, review warehouse inventory daily, and provide information to suppliers as needed.
  • Maintain necessary system information to meet inventory objectives and ensure smooth inventory flows with VMI suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Buyers and Planners weekly to review service levels, vendor issues, new items, and more.
  • Prepare various reports and work directly with vendors to maintain compliance and handle returns for damaged merchandise.
  • Act as a liaison between the Merchant and Planning organization to address relevant issues effectively.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or equivalent experience

Experience:
Minimum of one year of related replenishment experience

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Micro-Strategy, Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Power Point, Word), and spreadsheet analysis.

Other Skills:
Strong attention to detail
