Position Summary:
  • As the LGBTQ Campus Resource Center Director at UCLA, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the administration of the Center, developing programs and policies, and nurturing relationships with stakeholders.
  • You will lead a team, manage fundraising, and spearhead initiatives for LGBTQ+ inclusion on campus while providing educational support to various groups and communities.
  • Your mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for UCLA's diverse LGBTQ+ community, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Qualifications:
  • Fundraising Experience with a focus on supporting the LGBTQ community through acquiring external funding and nurturing donor relationships.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience working with college students in a public university setting.
  • Thorough understanding of the LGBTQ student population's current issues and the ability to design effective programs addressing sexual orientation and gender identity.
  • Strong knowledge of social justice principles, intersecting identities, and advocacy for marginalized communities.
  • Empathy, cultural intelligence, and exceptional communication skills for engaging with diverse audiences.
Deep understanding of diversity including:
  • Race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, ability, socioeconomic level, religion, political persuasion, and documentation status.
Current knowledge:
  • Stay informed about national and state issues affecting LGBTQ community resources and services.
Skills & Experience:
  • Demonstrated success in fiscal management and team leadership with a proactive, innovative, and inclusive approach.
  • Proficiency in developing funding strategies, managing grants, and supporting staff through training and mentorship.
  • Experience in multicultural environments, organizational development, and student support programs.
  • Expertise in strategic planning, fostering institutional change, and understanding campus cultures.
Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in LGBTQIA Studies, Ethnic Studies, Women's Studies, or related field.
  • Master's Degree in Education, Student Affairs, or relevant field (Preferred).
Special Conditions for Employment:
  • Background checks and compliance with employment regulations are essential for continued employment.
  • Adherence to age requirements and designated responsibilities under CANRA.
