They are responsible for fabricating, building, and install various HVAC metal equipment and systems for mechanical contracting and service operations.

They will additionally be assisting other areas of our mechanical contracting team as required if sheet metal work is not available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions
  • Measures, cuts, and welds pieces together according to specifications, blueprints, or directions
  • Connects pieces or secures seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using steel screws
  • Provide sheet metal work instruction to helpers and assistants if needed
  • Interpret and understand drawings related to assigned projects
  • Maintain and attend training to update certification in sheet metal and practices
  • Provide support and act as a resource for customers
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, legal regulations, and recommended best practices
  • Collaborate with all Associates to uphold the company's mission and values
  • Travel up to 75% of the time is required

Monday thru Thursday (10 hours), overtime/weekends as required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE:


In order to properly perform the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, hear and use hands/fingers in order to grasp/handle/feel.

Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, elevated and/or precarious workplaces, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibration.

Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.

OBLIGACIONES Y RESPONSABILIDADES PRINCIPALES:

  • Cortar, doblar y moldear metal laminado respetando las dimensiones requeridas.
  • Medir, cortar y unir piezas mediante soldadura respetando las especificaciones, planos o instrucciones.
  • Conectar las piezas o asegurar las uniones por medio de remaches, rodillos, soldaduras, o a través del uso de tornillos de acero.
  • En caso de ser necesario, ofrecer instrucciones para trabajar con metal laminado a ayudantes y asistentes.
  • Interpretar y comprender planos relacionados con los proyectos asignados.
  • Asistir a capacitaciones y realizar prácticas para actualizar la certificación en metal laminado.
  • Ofrecer asistencia y ser un recurso para los clientes.
  • Garantizar el cumplimiento de las leyes locales, estatales y federales, así como de las normas jurídicas y las buenas prácticas recomendadas.
  • Colaborar con todos los asociados para ratificar la misión y los valores de la empresa.
  • Es requisito viajar hasta el 75 % del tiempo.

REQUISITOS FÍSICOS Y EXPOSICIÓN AMBIENTAL:

Qualifications

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a pipe fitting apprenticeship or trade school program
  • 6+ months of related experience and/or training
