Key Responsibilities:

  1. Shipping Duties:
    1. Generate packing lists and bills of lading for outgoing shipments.
    2. Organize and retrieve packing documentation to ensure seamless shipping processes.
    3. Implement a tracking system for finished products in the yard.
    4. Maintain a clean and organized dock area.
    5. Assist in coordinating the final stages of production.
    6. Process shipment transactions efficiently.
    7. Digitally archive bills of lading to the corresponding job records.
    8. Systematically file bills of lading by date.
  2. Receiving Duties:
    1. Operate forklifts to manage the loading and unloading of materials.
    2. Utilize tools such as nail guns and chop saws to construct shipping crates.
  3. Equipment Operation: Safely operate various tools and machinery in compliance with OSHA and company standards, including:
    1. Metal Shears
    2. Metal Brakes
    3. Radial Saws
    4. Iron Workers
    5. Torches and Plasma Cutters
    6. Overhead Cranes
    7. Miscellaneous Hand Tools
  4. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring all tools and machinery are in optimal condition.
  5. Verify that workpieces meet specifications using measuring tools.
  6. Complete special projects as assigned by management.
  7. Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to ensure a secure workplace for all employees.
  8. Utilize proper safety equipment and report any safety concerns to management.
  9. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  2. Detail-oriented with a focus on achieving results.
  3. Strong analytical skills and sound judgment.
  4. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  5. Basic mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.
  6. Capability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  7. Knowledge of packing and crating methods.

Work Environment: This role involves exposure to various environmental factors, including noise and mechanical equipment. Hearing protection and safety eyewear are mandatory.

Physical Requirements: The position requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 70 lbs, standing for extended periods, and operating power tools.

Education:

  1. High school diploma or GED is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Technical training or certification in a related field.

Knowledge Requirements:

  1. Familiarity with general construction methods and tool operation.
  2. Certification in forklift operation and overhead crane use.
  3. Understanding of OSHA standards.
