Job Summary:
As a Custodial Worker 1 at Overture Center, you will perform routine manual tasks to maintain cleanliness in and around the facility under general supervision.
This part-time position includes shifts on Saturdays and Sundays.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Carry out general custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning restroom facilities.
- Operate various custodial equipment for effective cleaning.
- Set up rooms and move furniture as needed.
- Perform carpet cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Conduct general maintenance and security checks, responding to alarms and ensuring building safety.
- Support the organization's JEDI (justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion) mission.
- Complete other assigned tasks efficiently.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED
- 0-2 years of relevant training or experience
- Ability to follow instructions and work without close supervision
- Effective communication skills
- Capable of performing heavy manual work and being on feet for extended hours
Working Conditions:
- Operating cleaning equipment
- Manual labor, including lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds
- Walking several miles per shift and navigating stairs
- Working in a fast-paced environment for 8-hour shifts
- Exposure to various cleaning materials and moderate disagreeable conditions
