Responsibilities:

Join our team to help support our expanding operations in the U.S. We are currently seeking a skilled service technician for the following tasks:

  • Service Interventions: Organize, execute, and follow up on service interventions as a team leader at customer sites in North America and Canada.
  • Installations: Assist in equipment installations at customer sites in North America as part of an international team of technicians/experts.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose mechanical malfunctions, breakdowns, and irregularities in cheese production machinery. Provide effective solutions and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
  • Emergency Support: Respond promptly to emergency service calls, efficiently addressing equipment issues to minimize production losses and maintain operations.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and equipment performance. Update equipment manuals and document standard operating procedures as required.
  • Technical Training: Assist in training production staff on equipment maintenance and troubleshooting procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Consult & Support: Work with customers to develop maintenance programs and purchase spare parts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancement and equipment upgrades to improve cheese production.
  • Travel: Willing to travel nationwide and occasionally internationally. (Passport required) Must be able to travel more than 65% of the time.

Candidate Profile:

Seeking an Experienced Technician with:

  • Education: Technical college diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of experience. 5+ years of related experience and proven performance in service interventions may be accepted without a degree.
  • Experience: Strong mechanical and basic electrical experience in capital equipment industries such as food, chemical, pharmaceutical, or industrial automation.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of industrial safety protocols and potential hazards in equipment handling.
  • Mechanical Proficiency: Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing industrial machinery. Familiarity with PLCs and automation systems is a plus.
  • Food Safety Awareness: Understanding of food safety regulations, particularly in dairy processing.
  • Technical Comprehension: Ability to interpret mechanical design drawings, blueprints, layouts, and electrical plans.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Analyze complex mechanical issues, troubleshoot effectively under time constraints.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to work with teams, provide clear instructions, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various production environments.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, and overtime to meet production needs.
  • Driving License: Valid driver's license and clean driving record for onsite visits and support.
  • Computer Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for reporting and data analysis. Proficient in email communication and expense tracking.
  • Motivation: Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of leading teams on site with a positive attitude.
