eCommerce Merchandising Specialist

Job Definition:

When you shop online, can you instantly tell a good product listing from a bad one? Can you identify what would make someone want to purchase one product vs. another? If so, we want to hear from you. Creative Co-Op is looking for a Merchandising Specialist to help deliver a best-in-class eCommerce shopping experience across our various eCommerce retail .com sites (such as: Amazon, Wayfair and Overstock - just to name a few). In this role, you will own the merchandising of our large home decor product catalog and be responsible for product success on select sites. Youll constantly be evaluating and optimizing the shopping experience across our .com platforms and will work across teams to help create and implement best-in-class content. There is also an opportunity serve as the main point-of-contact on select accounts in order to ensure account health and profitability while driving sales.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the go-to person on merchandising for select .com retailers.
  • Implement marketing plans and strategies to enhance content creation across various .com sites
  • Regularly monitor sales performance for select accounts to identify marketing, merchandising, and advertising optimization opportunities, particularly for low performing items.
  • Audit content and listings (including variations) across accounts, making recommendations for any content improvements needed or marketing support (review programs, sponsored product, etc).
  • Work with vendor support to resolve listing issues and ensure listings are effective, up-to-date and remain among best-in-class.
  • Work cross functionally with product development, the creative team, the sales team, and the offshore support team to request, coordinate and implement merchandising content (copy, photography, graphics, and analytics) for both product launches and existing products.
  • Challenge the status quo and always lookout for ways to streamline and improve the efficiency of existing processes.
  • Research trends, opportunities and competitors to discover new ways to improve customer experience.
  • Own the ecommerce strategies for assigned accounts, overseeing the selection, pricing, and search/discoverability levers with a focus on long-term, sustainable growth
  • Perform other job duties as needed

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:

Education: BS degree in business or related field preferred; or relevant work experience.

Experience:

  • College degree in Advertising, Marketing, or related field
  • 2+years of Merchandising, Marketing, or Advertising experience, Prior eCommerce experience preferred
  • Ability to understand the features/benefits of a product and successfully communicate them
  • SEO and product description knowledge encouraged but not required
  • Home decor and furniture knowledge and experience preferred
  • Project management, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills
  • Prior experience with Salsify a plus
