Position Overview

The Senior Technical Leader is a Mid-Level technical Professional, focusing on small group sessions work, or assisting with larger group sessions. This role acts as a connector between the technical leadership and technical expert, reporting to an Operations Manager, Director of Operations or Department of Operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Operation:
  • Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of advanced audiovisual equipment as specified in the technical qualifications.
  • Troubleshoots technical challenges and resolves issues promptly.
  • Complies with all Company security and safety protocols.
  • Ensures equipment is protected from theft and damage while in use.
Customer Service:
  • Delivers outstanding service and aims to surpass the expectations and requirements of both internal and external customers.
  • Maintains positive relations with all clients through effective communication.
  • Collaborates with the internal team on event solutions pre-event and during the event to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.
  • Understands and nurtures the hotel/client relationship.
Training/Staff Development:

  • Provides guidance and coaching to technical, sales, and operations team members for enhancing technical skills as necessary.
Event Supervision:
  • Executes advanced work (pre/during/post event) with operations team members.
  • Supervises and guides other technicians during events.
Equipment Maintenance:
  • Assists the team with the proper security, storage, transportation, and upkeep of equipment.
  • Conducts inventory and forecasts equipment requirements.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of field experience in a specialized area required.
  • 2-3 years of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Internal applicants MUST hold a Technical 1-Star Certification before applying. External candidates will confirm and attain their Technical 1-Star Certification within 60 days of starting.
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds.
  • Internal Candidates must demonstrate completion of 50% of hands-on skill verification for the relevant core discipline (Audio, Lighting, Projection, Video).
  • Proficient in professional interaction with a diverse workforce, customer base, and senior management.
  • Strong experience in customer, client, and coworker engagement and capabilities.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory for team members in roles that involve operating Company vehicles. Additional DOT requirements may apply if relevant.

Work Environment

Work takes place in a hotel/convention center setting with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and elements like dirt, sand, and dust. The work environment can range from moderately quiet to noisy. Team members will interact with high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components, sometimes working at heights using lifts and ladders. There may be assignments in multiple hotel venues. Working hours will vary and may include irregular schedules and on-call status covering days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to the appearance standards defined by Encore based on individual hotels or representations of hotels in the city or region.
