The NYC Kids RISE Save for College Program is a scholarship and savings program designed to make college and career training more accessible for all NYC public school students— regardless of family income or immigration status.

The Office of Student Pathways oversees the programmatic components of the Save for College program. As part of the 2021 , the City announced the expansion of the Save for College Program to all kindergarten students enrolled in over 1,000 NYC Public Schools (including participating charter schools) starting September 2021. To respond to additional capacity needs the Office of Student Pathways is hiring facilitators to engage school staff and/or students at regular per session rate, after regularly scheduled school hours, for the Save for College team. Specific work dates and times to be mutually agreed upon.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

NYC Department of Education licensed and appointed Teacher Trainers (TT), and Teachers (Regular Grades or TR)

SELECTION CRITERIA:

At least two (2) years of satisfactory (Highly Effective/Effective) experience working within the NYCDOE. Licensed and appointed DOE teacher, teacher trainer; Passionate, reflective, and collaborative educator who has a positive impact on student learning. Effective and engaging communicator. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and follow-up skills. Interest in expanding post-secondary readiness efforts and access. Strong computer skills, including comfort with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and learning new technologies. Ability to articulate lived experiences as a NYC public school teacher, with aspects of Save for College program details in a compelling way. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities may include content design, session facilitation, enrichment instruction and/or feedback as outlined below. Design engaging, adapted professional learning sessions and/or enrichment sessions for students and/or parents/guardians, outside of the regularly scheduled school day, to meet school/district/region specific contexts in consultation with SFC program team. Facilitate engaging, adapted professional learning sessions for school staff and/or program support or enrichment sessions for students and/or parents/guardians, outside of the regularly scheduled school day, to meet school/district/region specific contexts. The staff offerings will include synchronous curriculum sessions for teachers, synchronous curriculum sessions for school administrators, OR synchronous milestone specific workshops for school-based staff. Facilitate synchronous Save for College Program specific sessions via online meeting platform or in person. Demonstrate effective techniques to increase session engagement and outcomes. Adhere to facilitator script and talking points, and continually hone talking points derived from user data and check-ins with SFC team throughout a facilitation season. Student sessions will include enrichment connected to financial literacy. Provide detailed feedback on content, professional learning and/or financial literacy implementation. WORK SCHEDULE:

July 2023-June 2024 Exact dates, times, and hours to be determined by the Senior Director based on the availability of funding within these parameters: Monday - Friday 8 am – 8 pmSaturday - Sunday: 8 am – 8 pmNo HolidaysWork cannot be completed during school /work hours Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent Upon Funding Availability.
