Director of College Guidance

Student Leadership Network is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of College Counseling to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive college guidance services to our students, helping them navigate the college application process and achieve their academic goals.
Key Responsibilities- College Application and Financial Aid Support: Manage the college application and financial aid process for all graduating seniors, ensuring timely and accurate completion of applications and financial aid packages.
- College Recruitment and Partnerships: Network with college admissions professionals to improve school visibility and reputation, leading to increased recruitment of our students by colleges and universities.
- Program Implementation and Management: Execute CBI Standard Components, including classroom presentations, student workshops, parent meetings, college fairs, and college trips for each grade level, with a focus on delivering high-quality programs that meet the needs of our students.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the school's administration, faculty, and staff to implement early college and career awareness, providing each grade level with appropriate college guidance and learning via a distributed counseling model.
- Program Development and Evaluation: Plan student activities and workshops to maximize educational impact, collaborate with teachers to create curricular pieces for school use, and evaluate program effectiveness to inform future improvements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Prepare for and assist with tours and visits from stakeholders and high-level donors, providing information about our schools and programs, and supporting student recruitment for partner college and enrichment programs.
- Database Management: Manage the Naviance database to ensure accurate and timely recording keeping of all program components.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred in Education, Youth Services, Social Work, or related fields. Three years of experience in college access, secondary education, or an educational non-profit required.
- Skills and Qualifications: Demonstrated experience with college admissions/counseling, strong strategic thinking and program management skills, ability to produce significant and sustained programmatic results, and experience working with low-income student populations.
- Personal Commitment: Understanding and commitment to the mission of Student Leadership Network, with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including students, parents, and educators.
- Competitive Salary: Annual salary range between $62,110 and $83,476, commensurate with skills and experience.
