Scion is seeking a talented Projects Manager, Capital Projects to join us in executing our capital vision.

This position will focus on managing the successful execution of capital projects from inception to completion while maintaining compliance with stakeholder expectations and contractual deadlines.


The Projects Manager, Capital Projects will ensure accuracy and progression of each project and establish fluid communication regarding the projects with key stakeholders.

This role demands excellent communication, mastery of planning, affinity for problem solving, flexibility and an attention to detail.

Your Responsibilities

Project Planning and Initiation:
Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resources.

Coordinate with stakeholders, architects, and/or engineers to define project requirements and specifications.

Project Execution:
Lead project teams, including subcontractors and on-site personnel, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.

Monitor and manage project schedules, adjusting as necessary to meet deadlines.

Ensure all construction activities comply with safety standards and building codes.

Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work adheres to project plans and quality standards.

Budget and Financial Management:
Prepare and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

Approve and process invoices, change orders, and purchase orders.

Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring projects remain within budget constraints.

Communication and Reporting:


Serve as the primary point of contact for internal clients, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns or issues.

Prepare and present progress reports to management and stakeholders.

Facilitate project meetings, documenting key decisions and action items.

Provide frequent updates through our project management software.

Risk Management:
Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Resolve conflicts and issues promptly, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and budgets.

Quality Assurance:
Implement quality control procedures to ensure all work meets the required standards and specifications.

Manage punch list activities, ensuring timely completion of all project deliverables.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably within the multi-family residential construction sector.

Proven track record of successfully managing multi-family construction projects from start to finish.

Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and project management methodologies.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Click up, MS Project, Excel) and other relevant tools.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Corporate office experience preferred.

PMP, PMI-CP, or other project management certification preferred.

Operational Details

Job location is based at Scion's Chicago corporate headquarters

Working hours consist of standard daytime business hours.

Willing and able to travel 70% or more in a year.

Valid driver's license.
