A leading global food ingredient company is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing capital projects, including design, field construction, and commissioning for multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities- Develop project scope, cost estimates, and schedules for capital projects and engineering studies.
- Manage detail mechanical design and create construction bid packages.
- Evaluate and select process equipment and outside contract services.
- Review contractor field work, monitor safe work practices, and issue work permits.
- Prepare purchase requisitions, plant work orders, and monthly cost/project status reports.
- Provide assistance to plant personnel and outside contractors to troubleshoot problems.
- Provide start-up assistance on capital projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably mechanical or chemical.
- At least 7 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with a background in chemicals or food ingredients being a plus.
- Knowledge of chemical processing or related equipment.
- Experience managing capital projects exceeding $100k, including FEL, cost estimating, scheduling, vendor management, equipment selection, construction, and start-up.
- Familiarity with field construction methods and safe work practices.
