Job Description

Being the Vice President Business Development in charge of Data Sales focusing on the Retail Vertical at Epsilon entails taking the lead in exploring new opportunities and enhancing sales efforts related to data products and services specific to supporting Retail organizations. This role involves strategizing, collaborating, and executing sales plans to maximize the impact of data-driven solutions in the Retail sector, supported by a dedicated lead generation team.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:
  • Provide visionary leadership and direction to the data sales team serving the Retail sector.
  • Develop and communicate sales strategies that align with the business objectives of Retail organizations.
Sales Planning and Execution:
  • Create detailed sales plans customized for the Retail sector.
  • Achieve and surpass sales targets, expand market share, and drive positive social impact while emphasizing diversity and inclusion.
  • Accountable for generating considerable annual revenue through new signings.
Collaboration and Alignment:
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including product development, marketing, and analytics, to ensure that data offerings meet the various needs and objectives of Retail organizations.
Market Insights and Innovation:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics within the Retail landscape.
  • Identify innovative opportunities and emerging data-driven strategies beneficial for Retail organizations.
Reporting and Analysis:
  • Utilize sales performance data to create reports, analyze outcomes, and present insights to senior management.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations for future strategies and advancements.
New Logo Pursuit:
  • Lead the pursuit of new business opportunities and contract expansions within target accounts.
  • Establish and nurture resources while actively seeking new business prospects.
  • Manage resources to craft proposals showcasing Epsilon's full range of capabilities and data solutions to customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in the Retail sector.
  • Proven track record of successful sales leadership in Retail.
  • Familiarity with data-driven technologies and analytics specific to Retail.
  • Ability to devise and implement sales strategies that align with Retail organizations' goals and mission.
  • Established ability to build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to align data offerings with Retail needs.
  • Knowledge of direct-to-consumer and direct-to-practitioner marketing programs.
  • Strong business acumen, communication, and presentation skills with a knack for advocating the value of data-driven solutions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 8-10+ years of successful sales experience, focusing on data-driven products or services, particularly in Retail.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in driving revenue growth and fostering client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills, with a dedication to social impact through data-driven solutions.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.
