Role Overview:
The CQCM will manage and execute daily quality control responsibilities to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with established standards.
This role involves overseeing the entire documentation and physical inspection phases of the workflow process, collaborating with both internal and external project team members to deliver a high-quality product.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Create, update, and maintain the project submittal log and all other project-specific quality control reports.
Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project specifications, utilizing team knowledge when necessary.
Lead weekly QC meetings with the superintendent, providing detailed written minutes as required by project contracts.
Generate daily QC reports that highlight project conformance and address any non-conformities to meet quality standards promptly.
Facilitate preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings to define standards of care for each definable feature of work.
Ensure all project materials comply with approved submittals, and verify their proper handling, storage, and installation.
Conduct pre-construction meetings with subcontractors and superintendents to discuss quality-related matters before each phase of work.
Coordinate and document the testing and commissioning of building systems.
Maintain updated "as-built" drawings daily and compile project closeout documents including O&M manuals and warranties.
Authority to halt work to address safety or quality issues affecting project progress.
Required Experience, Education, Skills, and Certifications:
Minimum of 10 years' experience on USACE construction projects, with at least 2 years as a QC manager.
Over 20 years of combined experience as a superintendent, QC manager, project manager, or project engineer in vertical construction and renovation projects.
Must possess a current USACE "Construction Quality Management for Contractors" Certification.Ability to pass DoD security clearance for base access.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
Proficient in QCS, RMS programs, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
Valid driver's license with a good record.
Preferred Experience, Education, Skills, and Certifications:
B.S. degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Background checks and drug screening are prerequisites for employment. Access to federal military bases is required and contingent upon passing security background screening.
