Position Overview:
This role involves operating machinery that combines raw materials to produce beverage items according to precise specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately weigh, measure, and mix ingredients to meet established standards.
- Conduct routine evaluations to ensure the resulting mixture adheres to specified properties and consistencies.
- Perform regular sampling of products during the bottling or canning process to maintain compliance with quality standards, including product quality, fill levels, labeling, freshness dating, and container integrity.
- Document test results and communicate any necessary adjustments to the manufacturing process to rectify irregularities.
- May require periodic deep cleaning and sanitization of blending and filling equipment as well as production lines.
Physical Requirements:
This position may necessitate lifting and carrying cases weighing between 20-45 pounds repeatedly over a 10-12 hour period, along with continuous standing and walking, and handling product samples while seated.
Primary Accountabilities:
- Operate and oversee production line(s) to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Facilitate the proper flow of materials and finished products.
- Utilize specialized equipment to conduct tests ensuring package and product quality.
- Efficiently and safely operate all manufacturing equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area during and after shifts.
- Adhere to process guidelines and promptly escalate quality concerns to management.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams as necessary.
- Keep accurate daily records of tests performed and their outcomes.
- Exhibit regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with audit compliance, monitoring, documentation, and variance explanation.
- Experience with product changeovers, including CIP, flavor changes, and sanitization.
- Proficiency in operating testing instruments such as Carbo QC, HPLC, and Densitometers.
- Knowledge of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and instrument calibration.
- Background in microbiology and food safety protocols.
