Position Overview

The VP Business Analyst Manager is primarily responsible for managing the Business Analyst team, working closely with senior leaders, technologies and partner teams across the enterprise to develop data and technology solutions. This person will report to the SVP of Business and Data Intelligence.

Essential Job Functions

  • Serves as critical technical advisor and consultant on projects involving a system or technology component.
  • Works with business unit leaders on business case/product or service justification.
  • Reviews and advises on initial systems project discovery phase prior to project approval; identifies key technical considerations and makes recommendations as appropriate.
  • Leverages broad understanding of the organization to ensure projects successfully deploy while working smoothly within existing business infrastructure and work process.
  • Provides leadership, motivation, coaching, mentoring and professional development for Business Analyst teams in order to obtain a high level of cooperation and contribution from all project members.
  • Manage business analysts who support projects and designated applications from aforementioned projects through their life cycle which includes information and reporting as needed.
  • Ensure that business analyst projects conform to overall Information Technology and Data strategy.
  • Ensures the mechanisms of change management (plans, processes, tools) are effectively executed by the business analyst team.
  • Ensures technical project issues and risks are identified, quantified, managed and tracked.
  • Uses past experience to proactively anticipate risk and develop appropriate mitigation strategies and plans.
  • Ensures risks, assumptions and constraints are appropriately communicated and escalated when necessary.
  • Assigns resources within the Business Analyst Team to support various applications used throughout the enterprise.
  • Ensures documentation for supporting applications are developed and maintained by the business analysts including integration between systems.
  • Ensures all stakeholders are informed of progress and issues by the team
  • Defines the business analyst process, standards, deliverables and operational cadence necessary to ensure consistent project deliverables.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role has direct supervisory responsibilities and carries out responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing employee's work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, performance coaching, and resolving issues; interviewing, hiring and training.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent specialized education) and seven or more years of technical management in a bank environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Flexible work schedule - must be available for on call duties to respond to problems.
