The Recruitment Events Manager (REM) is responsible for creating and planning dynamic and engaging events to drive new student enrollment. The position leads the student-worker events team and the ambassador program. This position is responsible for leading all programming and managing all recruitment events on campus and virtual for undergraduate admissions. The person in this role will be leading and/or coordinating three to four events weekly on average. These events are critical pieces to the new student recruitment process and significantly impact enrollment yield. The REM must be meticulous and organized and able to coordinate multiple moving parts under pressure and ensure that any last-minute changes or obstacles are handled with minimal disruption.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree required.

Required Experience

One to two years of leadership experience. One to two years of event-creating and planning experience. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Willingness to delegate tasks and organize a team. Ability to communicate and negotiate with external vendors and service providers.

Primary Duties/Essential Functions

Raise awareness and interest of the university through events. Develop strong partnerships with internal partners to successfully collaborate in development of events. Drive enrollment with compelling events. Regularly monitor event attendance and provide weekly reports to the executive director. Ensure event programming is relevant to prospective students and families. Maintain accurate records of all expenditures relates to events. Work closely with marketing to effectively promote events through multiple channels. Ensure all publicized event information is updated and accurate. Leads in planning and managing admissions event programming (both in person and virtual). Assist in the coordination and management of academic specific recruiting events. Hire, train, and supervise student events team. Hire, train, and supervise student ambassadors for hosting during overnight events. Test, manage, and train staff on the usage of the Slate Events module as implementation requires. Approve timecards/Concur reimbursements for student-worker team. Willingness and flexibility working some weekends and evenings. Exemplary focus, participation, and commitment to the goals of the department.

Must have exceptional customer service skills, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion. Self-starter attitude. Ability to plan and execute projects with many moving parts. Strong organizational and management skills. Proficient in data entry, analysis and quality control monitoring. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be collaborative and an effective team member and team builder.

Physical Demands

Requires repetitive motion and sitting at computer keyboard for extended periods of time. Hearing and speaking on DialPad. Meetings may require walking and/or driving to various University locations. Availability to drive and travel locally, and on occasion, nationally. Must be currently licensed to drive in the state of California. Ability to pull, push, bend, grasp, reach and lift up to 20 lbs. Must be able to climb stairs multiple times in a work day.

Compensation

Grade 11: $66,560 to $68,247 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive.
