Description

RFG Advisory is seeking a CORPORATE EVENT MANAGER to join our growing team You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of corporate events, from concept to execution. This may include developing event concepts and themes, managing budgets, coordinating with vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that events are executed smoothly and create engaging experiences for financial advisors.

The Corporate Event Manager role at RFG demands a meticulous and well-organized professional who can create successful events that meet the specific needs of our growing firm. By executing high-quality conferences, retreats, and webinars, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the professional development and networking opportunities for financial professionals in the industry.

Location :

This position is in our Birmingham office and requires regular travel. Our office works in a structured hybrid schedule, 3 days in-office and 2 days remote.

Reports To : Director of Marketing

Direct Reports : Client Experience Coordinator

Key Responsibilities :

  • Plan and manage all aspects of corporate events, including budgeting, venue selection, vendor management, and logistics.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop event concepts, themes, and agendas that align with our brand and goals.
  • Coordinate with marketing team to promote events through various channels and ensure maximum attendance.
  • Oversee onsite event execution, including registration, audiovisual setup, and attendee engagement.
  • Create compelling conference agendas and retreat itineraries that address industry trends and challenges.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify suitable webinar topics and speakers.
  • Ensure that event programs align with the educational and professional development needs of financial advisors.
  • Oversee all event logistics, including travel arrangements, accommodations, transportation, and catering.
  • Coordinate event materials, badges, signage, and technology requirements.
  • Select and manage vendors, such as audiovisual teams, catering services, and event app developers.
  • Negotiate contracts and monitor vendor performance to meet quality and budgetary standards.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to event attendees, addressing their inquiries and needs.
  • Oversee onsite registration, check-in, and event flow to ensure a positive attendee experience.
  • Manage event budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare financial reports and evaluate the return on investment for each event.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from attendees and stakeholders to improve future events.
  • Evaluate event success and provide recommendations for improvement based on attendee feedback and performance metrics.

Requirements

Experience :
  • Proven experience in event planning (8+ years), with a focus on financial industry events being a strong advantage.
  • Proven experience managing, leading, and developing at least one employee.
  • Large-scale conference planning experience is required.
  • Experience negotiating contracts with vendors and managing event budgets.
Skills :
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of financial industry trends and issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be technologically proficient and have a willingness and desire to learn new technologies.
Additional Requirements :
  • Flexibility to travel and work evenings or weekends as needed.
  • This is a new role but we anticipate there could be 5-10 travel days per quarter.
