The Security Monitor I, Community Corrections isresponsible for the supervision of the facility populationincluding but not limited to safety, security and facilitysanitation. This role provides for the care, custody andcontrol of residents and establishes a safe environment for thefacility, staff, visitors andresidents.- Monitor residentpopulation and reports any suspicious activities or violations ofpolicy, procedures, or regulations by residents or otherindividuals.
- Conduct resident counts,searches, room inspections, and vehicle searches asrequired. Conduct drug and alcohol testing as needed oras directed by facilityadministration.
- Process residents forintake/discharge in accordance with policies andprocedures.
- Monitor resident workeractivities, provides necessary instruction, and applies standardsand procedures for the completion and quality of work performed byresidents, where applicable.Perform rescue functionsat accidents, emergencies and disasters to include administeringbasic emergency medical aid and CPR, physically removing peopleaway from dangerous situations, and securing and evacuating peoplefrom confinedareas.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent isrequired.
- Work experience in the operations of a correctionalfacility ispreferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writingand apply problem solving techniques to complexissues.
- Must be available to work any hours, anyshift.
- Must complete pre-service and other training programsas required.
- A valid driver's license isrequired.
- Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 yearsof age.
