Job Description:
This role supports the U.S. Navy's GERALD R. FORD Class aircraft carrier Propulsion Plant Planning Yard (PPPY), focusing on maintaining complex mechanical and electrical machinery within the propulsion plant. Responsibilities include procurement of new machinery, technical support for in-service machinery, and collaborating with various stakeholders including Navy personnel, suppliers, and engineers. Strong technical writing skills and the ability to resolve design issues are essential.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and relevant experience, Master's Degree is a plus
- Design knowledge of propulsion plant components
- Experience in supporting Navy/DoD programs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with end-user support and troubleshooting
- Project management skills and experience leading technical teams
- Ability to develop technical solutions for complex problems
- Desire to mentor junior engineers
