Glenelg Country School is a non-sectarian, co-educational, college preparatory school serving students from age 2 through grade 12 on 90-acre campus just minutes from Columbia, MD, with approximately 800 students.

Overview of Essential Functions

  • Teaching history in a multidisciplinary course introducing conflicts and exchanges between Western Europe and the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America, with an emphasis on early modern and modern eras.

    • Adopting non-Western texts, art, and perspectives to move the course beyond the horizons of a traditional Euro-centric curriculum.

    • Collaborating effectively in a team of three to craft and refine a consistent experience for all tenth-grade students in both Honors and On-Level groups. Key Skills and Attributes:?

    The successful candidate will bring to GCS a love of working with adolescents and the ability to differentiate instruction among a wide range of learners with appropriate educational technologies. GCS is a thriving community built on the holistic development of its students. All full-time Upper School teachers contribute to clubs and enrichment activities and advise a group of ten or eleven students for their entire Upper School career.
