Join our team at Neurotech Pharmaceuticals We are a pioneering biopharmaceutical company based in Cumberland, RI, situated in the heart of Greater Boston's thriving biotechnology hub. With over two decades of experience, we specialize in developing exclusive biological drug device technologies to treat various retinal disorders. Our primary focus is on advancing a therapy for Macular Telangiectasia Type 2 (MacTel), an orphan disease. Leveraging our innovative Encapsulated Cell Technology (ECT) platform, we aim to deliver a genetically modified neuroprotective factor to slow down the progression of this chronic retinal condition.

We are currently looking for a Senior Director of Marketing to spearhead our U.S. marketing team responsible for the launch of NT-501 to eyecare professionals and consumers. In this role, you will be pivotal in shaping and executing the launch strategy in alignment with our strategic goals. Your responsibilities will include driving initiatives for eyecare professionals and patients, setting up metrics for tracking success, and ensuring a solid ROI to guide strategic decisions.

You will collaborate with various teams to ensure a seamless launch that boosts growth, fosters patient acceptance, and enhances shareholder value.

This position is based in Needham, MA, and requires your presence on-site. Remote work is not an option.

Job Requirements

  • Lead eyecare professional and patient initiatives, establish metrics for tracking success and ROI to drive product adoption.
  • Devise and implement a comprehensive launch strategy, defining metrics, timelines, and targets while ensuring cross-functional alignment for a successful market introduction.
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs and Market Access to streamline the product's market entry.
  • Coordinate marketing strategies for an integrated campaign across all launch phases.
  • Supervise budgeting in partnership with Finance, ensuring strategic allocation of investments.
  • Manage agency relationships, workflows, and expenses to stay within budget.
  • Cultivate partnerships with media, associations, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities and enhance product adoption.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape and marketing trends to shape strategies.
  • Work closely with Medical, Legal, and Regulatory teams to ensure adherence to relevant regulations and compliance.
  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor marketing professionals to build a high-performing team.

Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree is a must, while an MBA or an advanced degree in science, life sciences, or related fields is preferred.
  • At least a decade of senior-level marketing experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry or startups with a proven track record in strategy development and execution.
  • Demonstrated experience in successful product launches leading high-performance teams.
  • Previous involvement in Retina is highly valued.

  • Strong leadership capabilities, with experience collaborating with cross-functional and senior leaders.
  • Possess a strategic mindset and adept at developing both short and long-term marketing initiatives for organizational success.
  • Keen attention to detail combined with a broad strategic vision.
  • Ability to navigate complex situations, make tough decisions, and adapt to changes effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the capacity to deliver compelling presentations to various stakeholders.
  • Skilled in prioritizing tasks and managing multiple stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%.
