Are you ready to support and guide medical students towards academic success? We are looking for a Learning Specialist to work closely with students, staff, and faculty at CMSRU. Your responsibilities will include developing personalized preparation plans for exams, facilitating workshops, and promoting student wellness.
Job Responsibilities:
- Meet with medical students to create proactive academic success plans.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Learning Support and assist in various duties.
- Establish effective relationships with students and faculty, guiding students in learning strategies.
- Oversee the Learning Support Student Advisory Council and administer the Peer Tutoring program.
- Design and deliver workshops to enhance student academics and wellness programming.
- Administer learning assessment tools, support academic achievement, and participate in student activities.
- Maintain accurate records, attend workshops, and stay updated on academic support literature.
- Support faculty development and assist with program and report preparation.
- BA, BS, or BSW in relevant fields.
- 2-3 years of academic advising experience.
- Experience with high-stakes exams and the ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent written communication skills and a commitment to diversity and collaboration.
- MA, MS, MSW, or MEd in related fields.
- Experience working with students needing academic support.
- Knowledge of academic accommodations and USMLE exams.
- Understanding of learning science and educational psychology.
This role is diverse and may involve assisting with other duties as assigned. Working hours are typically 8AM to 5PM with flexibility for evenings or weekends based on department needs.
NOTES:
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
