Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dedicated individual to ensure the safety of our students and community. The School Safety Officer will be responsible for maintaining the safety of students, staff, visitors, and the facility by patrolling the premises, monitoring security systems, and fostering relationships within our school community to create a secure and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Establishing positive relationships with all community members
  • Serving as the initial point of contact for visitors while embodying school values
  • Monitoring and reporting on activities and incidents
  • Ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and property
  • Responding to student infractions according to established protocols
  • De-escalating and intervening in student conflicts
  • Assisting with student entry and dismissal procedures
  • Overseeing security camera operations
  • Maintaining order and safety, enforcing school rules and regulations
  • Conducting foot patrols of the building and grounds to identify security issues
  • Documenting incidents in case of emergencies or security investigations
  • Keeping accurate logs and reports as required
  • Supporting occasional weekend or evening events as necessary
  • Performing additional duties to enhance school-wide safety systems
Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of security experience (preferably in an educational setting)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Genuine enjoyment in working with students and families
  • Strong communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus but not mandatory
  • Reliable transportation
