Staff Accountant

Job Description:

  • Own all aspects of all sales tax, excise tax, property tax, gross receipts and other business license returns including government reports to ensure the accurate and timely preparation and filing
  • Serve as liaison for external government agency inquiries
  • Handle full-cycle accounting to include preparation of Journal Entries to ensure compliance with GAAP, the Company's accounting policies, and internal controls
  • Perform month-end and year-end accounting close adhering to the close schedule
  • Reconcile all non-cost accounting general ledger accounts including the follow-up and resolution of reconciling items
  • Review and maintain all Fixed Asset files and reconciliations including monitoring capital asset acquisition projects in progress
Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Accounting/Finance
  • 2 years of related accounting experience
  • 2 years of experience with Multi-State Sales Tax Preparation, Account Reconciliation, and Journal Entries preferred
