Job Summary: As a National Sales Trainer, you will collaborate with the Director of Commercial Training and Development to refine and implement existing sales training materials. Your responsibility will involve ensuring that both internal and field sales professionals possess a comprehensive understanding of product offerings, market competition, and can adeptly utilize sales techniques throughout the entire sales process from prospecting to closure. By acquiring an in-depth knowledge of the complete Meridian sales procedure, you will provide assistance, evaluate, and enhance current initiatives. Additionally, your role will involve contributing fresh sales concepts that enhance the overall effectiveness of the sales team.

  • Ensure consistent delivery of sales training curriculum in collaboration with the Director of Commercial Training and Development.
  • Team up with sales and marketing leaders to customize sales training programs based on product portfolio, regional market dynamics, and learning requirements.
  • Guide new hires through the onboarding process and participate in new hire sales training schemes as part of their educational journey.
  • Contribute to developing advanced sales training initiatives, workshops, and competitive selling modules on an ongoing basis, addressing current field-related challenges and delivering workshops aimed at proactively promoting the advantages of our products over competitors.
  • Gain knowledge of competitive products, industry trends, and Meridian's portfolio to integrate competitive selling techniques into all training programs.
  • Accompany Account Executives (AE) and Senior Account Executives (SAE) as necessary to offer training, ensure training uniformity, and establish rapport with customers and team members.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, create reports, and carry out comprehensive program analyses. Provide effective support and guidance to AE's, SAE's, and Sales leaders.
  • Offer strategic insights to the Director of Training and Development and VP of Sales to continuously enhance all training initiatives.

Other Duties/Physical Requirements:

  • Physical: Ability to lift 20 pounds of supplies or finished products during the workday.
  • Other: Capacity for concentration, analysis, and resolution of complex matters throughout the workday. Must be adept at using a PC, including frequent keyboard and mouse usage, during the workday. Ability to sit/stand for extended periods, reach, bend, stoop, and lift during the workday.

Minimum Education or Equivalent Experience Required/Preferred:

Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare, or Science is mandatory. Furthermore, a minimum of 3 years of professional sales experience, or a sales and coaching role involving technical training development and delivery (preferably in the diagnostics and/or hospital laboratory capital equipment sector) is preferred.
