About the Position:
As a NP - BHS (Nurse Practitioner - Behavioral Health Services), you will play a crucial role in conducting psychiatric and psychopharmacological assessments and treatments for our clients in the Behavioral Health department. Joining our team means collaborating with a group of dedicated and skilled professionals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate clients' physiological, neurological, and psychopharmacological conditions.
- Prescribe and oversee psychotropic medications.
- Contribute to diagnostic formulations, treatment plans, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
- Offer direct counseling when necessary.
- Engage in utilization review and quality management initiatives.
- Establish partnerships with community organizations and hospitals.
- Provide guidance to other team members as needed.
- Work closely with BHS colleagues and primary care providers for comprehensive patient care.
- Conduct in-service training for staff.
- Adhere to productivity and care standards.
- Participate in supervision sessions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in clinical and administrative protocols.
- Ability to collaborate with medical and support staff for client welfare.
- Sound knowledge of medical practices.
- Familiarity with the agency's community role.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Adherence to ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse Practitioner/Clinical Nurse Specialist with three years of experience.
- Certification as an Adult and/or Adolescent/Child Psychiatric Clinic Nurse Specialist by ANCC.
- Current DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registrations.
Physical Requirements:
- Regular standing and walking, constituting 80% of the work schedule.
- Occasional lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Color vision and ability to perform CPR.
Work Environment:
- Regular interaction with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Occasional stress due to high workload.
- Exposure to infectious diseases possible; adherence to safety protocols required.
