With direct and matrixed oversight of sales, business development (BD), and proposal professionals, the Commercial Manager will be instrumental in driving early client engagement, state lobbying efforts, and comprehensive sales and account management strategies.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Collaboration: Fosters cross-functional partnerships to share market insights, client intelligence, and strategic initiatives, enhancing overall business acumen and fostering more cohesive strategies across service lines.
  • Market Intelligence: Identifies potential new projects and opportunities through diligent market research and continuous client engagement, expanding our portfolio and presence in the industry.
  • Client Communication: Engages with clients to affirm that our initial technical and commercial proposals align seamlessly with their requirements, ensuring a customized and solution-focused approach.
  • Relationship Management: Actively maintains and strengthens client relationships through regular interactions, leveraging client relationship management tools to keep detailed records and gauge client satisfaction.
  • Tender Management: Leads the tender process from end-to-end, ensuring meticulous preparation, compilation, and submission of all tenders, upholding the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
  • Team Leadership: Manages and mentors a dedicated team of proposal and tender coordinators, prioritizing workload distribution, performance assessment, and the ongoing professional development of team members.
  • Project Coordination: Ensures the seamless transition of commercial and technical project details to the operations and project management teams post-award, facilitating a comprehensive understanding through detailed commercial control documentation.
  • Scope Negotiation: Directly negotiates with clients on adjustments to project scope, schedule, or budget, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to client needs.
  • Contract Oversight: Directs contract review and negotiation processes, collaborating with legal advisors as necessary to ensure alignment with corporate standards. Responsible for final approval of contract variations, ensuring transparent communication with all stakeholders.
  • Legal Liaison: Works closely with legal counsel to ensure the development, implementation, and upkeep of Master Service Agreements, safeguarding company interests and facilitating smooth client engagements.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Adheres to all corporate policies, procedures, and quality standards, including health, safety, environmental, and management systems, ensuring a commitment to excellence and safety in all aspects of our work.
Job Requirements:
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, surveying, or related field. Master's degree in business or marketing is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in a commercial role within the energy industry.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Power BI).
  • Possess or ability to obtain a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Possess or ability to obtain a Passport for International travel
  • Ability to use CRM tools.
  • Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with and motivate other Fugro employees and project teams.
  • Ability to create new markets and to expand upon existing project work scopes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of contractual terms and conditions.
  • Knowledge of geo-data acquisition, survey, and engineering techniques employed by industry.
