Exciting Opportunity:Nursing Care Assistant I/Health Unit Coordinator – Inpatient Medical Oncology
Work Schedule: 3-12 hour shifts - day and night rotations with weekends

About the Department:
Join the team at NP 5200, a 37-bed inpatient adult medical/stepdown oncology unit. This unit specializes in symptom management for oncology patients, administering chemotherapeutic agents, and providing end-of-life care. Collaborate with various departments and disciplines to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
Role Overview:
- Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for procedures
- Assist with patient care activities under the guidance of RN/LPN
- Provide direct care to patients including personal hygiene, feeding, mobility assistance
- Support teaching activities and assist in physical examinations
- Record vital signs, patient data, and maintain patient environment
- Perform routine tests, collect specimens, and maintain patient charts
- Contribute to professional development and support staff learning
Requirements:
Education:
- Completion of a Nurse Aide education program approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- High school diploma or equivalent
Licensure/Certification:
- Currently listed as a Nursing Assistant (NA I) with the Division of Facility Services
- BCLS certification required
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of patient care procedures and treatments
- Understanding of infection control and safety precautions
- Ability to establish effective relationships with patients and staff
- Physical ability to perform job duties including lifting and mobility
